Responsibilities

• Inspect, analyse defects, and adjusts or repairs electrical and mechanical systems of outboard engines.
• Following inspection, disassemble and inspect engines to isolate defective parts, using mechanic’s hand tools and gauges.
• Replaces parts, such as gears, magneto points, piston rings, and spark plugs, and reassembles engine.
• Adjusts carburetor mixture and electrical point settings while engine is running on test ride.
• May change propeller to increase motor efficiency, based on size and shape of boat hull.
• May install or repair steering and throttle controls.
• Follow manufacturer’s repair checklist that usually includes detailed inspection cleaning and repair or replacement of fuel injection systems, brakes, electrical systems, plugs, carburetors, and other parts.
• Inspect and repair or adjust propellers and propeller shafts.
• Repair or adjust parts that do not work properly or replace unfixable parts.
• Repair engine mechanical equipment such as power-tilts, bilge pumps, or power take-offs.
• Document inspection and test results, repair work done and parts replaced for proper billing and record upkeep.
• Replace parts such as magneto points, gears, piston rings, and spark plugs.
• Give necessary advice in ordering parts directly from manufacturers if not available from local shops.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Bachelor's/College Degree.
• At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Male or Female 25-35 years old.
